There’s no denying that social media is as much a visual platform as a worded one… if not even more so now!

When creating your online profile for your business, you have to consider what would work well for your company, but at the same time, think about what works well for socials too. Even for a platform like Twitter, you have to take into account the visuals you want to incorporate. Seeing as tweets with an image attached have a 35% increased chance of getting retweeted, you shouldn’t have to think long about what needs to be done.

Instagram and Snapchat are… well, babies in the social media field but yet are becoming the most successful tools out there! Snapchat currently has 160 million daily users and Instagram has 300 million daily users.

The speed at which these 2 platforms are growing has been faster than ever before. Why? Because people love good looking things! Users are drawn to attractive looking things, whether they are images or videos and are more successful at grabbing one’s eye.

What stands out more to the viewer?

A perfectly phrased sentence or a beautifully striking image… I think the image would win in this one.

As we know 87% of posts shared on Facebook have photos attached! When looking to attract a new audience, you need to think about what would catch their eye. You have to consider the fact that they would have scrolled through hundreds of visuals before getting to yours. So you have to think… what would make them stop at YOUR post?

How are using visuals important for businesses on social media?

The visuals are what your viewers are going to see first. This creates the first impression and as they always say “first impressions count”!

You need to make sure that you stand out against the crowd and seeing as there are billions of users and accounts on social media, this can be quite hard.
