It was the biggest night in the music year this week, with The Grammy’s 2017 exploding over social media.

Last years Grammys got the world talking, racking up a total of 17.2 million tweets and were viewed 2.1 billion times globally, and how did this year go?

This year, it had brought in a total of over 26 million viewers and on Twitter, it seemed to have fared slightly better, bringing in a total of 17.3 million tweets.

According to @TwitterData, the top 3 most talked about stars from the Grammy’s were Beyonce, Adele and Rihanna. But what got the nation buzzing about them, what made them stand out during the night?

Well, let’s start with Bey… She didn’t win Album of the Year and the BeyHives were not too happy about this. They felt that Beyonce was more deserving of the award, even the winner herself, Adele, thought this too!

In her acceptance speech she said, “I can’t possibly accept this award and I’m very humble… but the artist of my life is Beyonce and the Lemonade album was just so monumental and so well thought out and so beautiful and soul-baring,”…

Let’s have a look at why… Adele’s album sales overshadowed Beyonce’s Lemonade selling over 20 million copies since its release in 2015. Lemonade didn’t do too bad itself, being the 3rd best selling album in the US in 2016, but guess who came second…? Yep, it was Adele with 25!

Despite this, Beyonce still sold 4,000 copies of Lemonade on the night.

Well, we think both ladies are very deserving of this award!

On top of this, Beyonce had a stellar performance too in her beautiful golden gown representing, Oshun, the goddess of love and fertility.

To add to the amazement, she is pregnant with the twins, (as you may all well know) making this one of the most memorable performance of the night.

Adele’s performance was certainly something worth mentioning with the star messing up her performance and starting it all over again! She, “can’t mess up like last year”, and “can’t mess up for him [George Michael]”. Well, we can’t blame her for wanting to give a proper tribute to George Michael!

She certainly cleaned up the Grammys! Walking away with 5 awards including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year, taking her total to 15.

It seemed to be a battle between Beyonce and Adele, but both artists were outstanding in there performance and their speeches. If it was up to us, we would shower them both with awards!
